In the fourth quarter of 2022, the top social networking apps in Finland showed varied performance across downloads, revenue, and active users. Using data from Sensor Tower, we delve into the specifics of these top 5 apps: BeReal: Photos & Friends Daily, WhatsApp Messenger, TikTok Now, Telegram Messenger, and Facebook.

BeReal: Photos & Friends Daily experienced a downward trend in weekly downloads, starting from around 14.6K in late September and decreasing to approximately 6.1K by the end of December. Despite this, the app maintained a steady increase in active users, peaking at nearly 147K in the final week of December.

WhatsApp Messenger saw a resurgence in weekly downloads towards the end of the quarter, jumping from around 4.9K in early December to about 11.3K in the last week of the year. The app's active users remained relatively stable, hovering around 3.9M throughout the quarter. Revenue showed modest fluctuations, with a peak of $42 in late November.

TikTok Now had a significant drop in weekly downloads, from roughly 20.4K in late September to just 449 by the end of December. Active users mirrored this decline, decreasing from about 20K to 16.4K over the same period.

Telegram Messenger showed a steady increase in revenue, peaking at $682 in the last week of December. Downloads fluctuated, reaching a high of 6.8K in late October before settling at around 4.6K by the end of the quarter. Active users remained fairly consistent, with a slight dip to approximately 250K in the final week.

Lastly, Facebook had a stable performance in terms of active users, averaging around 2.18M throughout the quarter. Weekly downloads were also consistent, ranging between 4.5K and 5.5K. Revenue peaked at $1.1K in late November before stabilizing at around $891 by the end of December.
